Since moving to the UK from Canada two years ago, we have enjoyed touring organic farm shops in the UK. So far, I have enjoyed visiting in particular is Plaw Hatch Farm, a biodynamic working farm that offers a variety of goods. Dairy, Meats and Produce Their raw milk has the biggest appeal to me–being fresh, creamy and always delicious. Having lived in Canada (where it is illegal for dairy producers to sell raw milk), it is a treat to be able to buy it and supply my family with this nourishing food. The farm shop also offers raw milk Kefir, raw milk cheese and many flavours of yogurt (I love the creamy vanilla) made on the farm all of which are equally yummy! They offer a selection of farm raised meat products and fresh eggs. Baked Goods
Plaw Hatch also carries locally produced baked goods such as cake bread and dessert bars, flapjacks brownies, as well as many organic shelf items such as coconut oil, organic tortilla’s, pastas, and canned goods. Many of the fresh vegetables and fruits are produced seasonally on the farm and what isn’t produced locally is clearly labelled with it’s origin. Spring Water
The farm shop also permits you to bring and fill your own containers with their farm’s spring water for a donation of your choice. The spring water comes from an ancient well located within the farm–water that the farm likes to share with the community.. Fun for the Kids The public is invited to watch the cows getting milked 2 times per day. If you happen to frequent the shop on Saturday you can also purchase fresh pressed juice made form what ever produce is available and the creativity of the juice maker! Visit Plaw Hatch Farm Shop let me know your thoughts. I would also love to hear which organic farm shops you enjoy as well.
